With the help of various tradesmen and friends we gutted, renovated and redecorated a Grade II listed building, which was our first premises. Obtaining the building next door in 1996, we expanded the practice to have a downstairs consulting room. Jonathan graduated from Aston University and came third in the country for his outstanding performance in the Professional Qualifying Examinations winning the Colebrook Prize.

This is equivalent to an optical ultrasound. It takes a cross-section picture of your retina, the light-sensitive tissue lining at the back of the eye. It is an established and accurate technique to view the inside of a patient's eye non invasively. Sadly, over the last few years we have started to see increasing number of children developing short slightness, also called myopia.

This occurs when light focuses in front of the retina and causes a blur in the distance. It often develops during the early teenage years and is often noticed when the blackboard becomes difficult to read. This occurs when the eye naturally can't focus light onto the retina and its point of focus is behind the retina.

Is it true that wearing glasses all the time will make my eyes lazy and I will become dependent on them? No. unless specifically told that you can by your optometrist. Sleeping in your lenses can be hazardous as it can lead to infection or damage to the cornea (front window of the eye).
