Our Brands
Report
Inspired by the bright pigments and colours found in Brazil, this range uses light and sculpture in a refreshing way. We are Lapima's only UK eyewear stockists and proud to be so. Most descriptions of Garrett start by stating that he's the son of Larry Leight, the founder of Oliver Peoples. But you know what?
Contact Lenses
Report
Contact lenses have evolved out of all recognition since their early days in the 1960s and 70s. When I first qualified, opticians spent an enormous amount of time sorting out contact lens problems and resultant eye infections. Around half the new fittings were either hard or gas permeable lenses which meant wearers weren't happy until they'd spent around six months of adaptation.
Progressive Lenses
Report
This ensures that the prescription takes into account all focusing requirements, history, feedback from previous glasses, and a thorough understanding of the visual requirements of the wearer. Adam needs to have an extensive and current knowledge of all of the lens types available and we pride ourselves on this.
Dry Eye Treatment
Report
Dry Eyes and blepharitis are common complaints affecting the quality of life of millions of people in the UK. Dry Eye syndrome is five to six times more common in women than in men. Symptoms include dryness, itching, stinging, redness and difficulty wearing contact lenses. Often, watery eyes are caused by dryness.
Myopia Control
Report
As a student I was intrugued by children from the States wearing bifocals. Years later I discovered that this was one of the first methods being trialled to reduce escalating shortsightedness. Unfortunately bifocals in children have a virtually non-existent success rate. Other methods with slightly better results include multifocal contact lenses, using atropine eyedrops at varying doses and Orthokeratology, in which hard lenses are worn at night. In parallel, significant research has been conducted into how and why children's eyes grow, which is the cause of increased myopia.
