I had an eye test at Greenfield Eyecare last week and picked up my new glasses today - honestly the best experience Ive had at an opticians. The eye test was incredibly thorough and everything was explained clearly, especially the OCT scan which Id never had before.
James and Claire took the time to talk through my prescription and helped me choose the right varifocal lenses rather than just pushing the most expensive option like some big chain opticians do. Ive been wearing my new glasses today and the difference in my vision is amazing.
The practice itself is lovely as well - really modern, relaxed and easy to park right outside which is rare around Saddleworth. The whole team are friendly and you never feel rushed. While I was there I also found out they offer ear wax removal, so Ive actually booked in to have that done next week as well. Its great having these services locally rather than needing to go somewhere else. If youre looking for a proper independent optician in the Saddleworth / Oldham area I cant recommend Greenfield Eyecare enough. I wouldnt go anywhere else now.

I have struggled many years with glasses and Claire knew the problem within 5 minutes of me explaining why. You both went above and beyond to resolve my problem. I have been a customer of Greenfield Eyecare (previously Allegro optical) for a number of years now and have always had great service. Claire and James have always been very warm, welcoming and know their profession well. Excellent selection of glasses and lenses, their Optometrist has all the latest equipment. Just picked up my latest pair of glasses and as usual am very happy with. I would highly recommend Greenfield Eyecare.

Superb, friendly and professional service throughout from my first initial discussions, advanced test and choice and delivery of my spectacles. I have a complex prescription and now needed varifocals. After discussion opted for Tokai lenses and now have the lightest thinnest spectacles I have ever owned with the clearest vision in all focal lengths. Also an excellent choice of frames with others brought in from other branches to widen choice. I recently started singing again after a break of many years and can now see my music, conductor and audience with clarity. Thank you to all the team at Allegro.

I took my 5 year old daughter for an eye test following her reception eye screening which picked up a concern. From the first telephone call booking her appointment, I felt like we were looked after to the highest standard. The optician explained everything that was going to happen, putting both me and my daughter at ease from the start. My little girl chose her glasses and could not wait to go and collect them once they were ready.
I was really surprised at how quickly the process was and so glad as she was super happy with the ones she picked. I cannot recommend them highly enough... in fact, I will be ditching my opticians and going back when I'm due an eye test in the summer!
