Mackie opticians is owned and run by husband and wife team Dr Scott Mackie and Dr Roisin Mackie. Each is a consultant optometrist at hospital and is an examiner for the professional body. They also both have a PhD in Primary Eye care, a Diploma in Low Vision, are course organisers for the largest two day retraining course for opticians in the U.K. and publish papers in Scientific journals.



The company is an independent practice, and family business, providing professional services. For continuity of your eyecare you will see the same qualified optician at every visit, and the optician that tests your eyes will also dispense your spectacles. We stock a variety of frames to suit all ages. If, however, you wish to continue with your current frame we are happy to fit new lenses where suitable.


We are a new independent opticians opened in the west end of Glasgow in the residential area of Scotstoun. We have a street level consulting room and wheelchair access to ensure we can offer our services to everyone possible. Our consulting room has the latest equipment to thoroughly examine the health of your eyes and determine whether you require spectacles.
