We are exclusive stockists of Oakley prescription frames and Ronit Furst that are individually hand painted in a range of beautiful colours. We are an official partner of Silhouette Spectacles the worlds leasing rimless spectacles made from hypoallergenic pure Titanium. The experience of our qualified dispensing optician ensures that we tailor your specs to your individual requirements. We discuss carefully lenses and frames to combine appearance, fashion and function. At Stephen Bye Opticians we know that our patients are looking for quality and style, which is why we work hard to make sure our collections offer the most exciting new styles and the best possible choice.

Our independent status means we are not tied to a single manufacturer or supplier. This allows us to offer an unprecedented range of products from the world's leading lens suppliers that are individually tailored to suit your specific needs and requirements, all at competitive prices; like for like cheaper than the large chains. These are corrective lenses with the same prescription over their entire surface and are available in an extensive range of powers and materials. These are generally used for a single task such as distance, reading or computer for example.

Looking after your eyesight is our top priority and at Stephen Bye Opticians we strongly recommend your eyes be examined regularly as part of your normal health check. Eye examinations are vital to ensure clear vision but also help detect and monitor common health conditions and eye problems such as glaucoma, diabetes and macula degeneration. Our practices use the very latest technology to help identify defects BEFORE they become a problem. Qualified staff carries out the examination in its entirety; using unqualified staff purely to save money or to cram yet more tests into the day should not carry out something so serious we feel.

We stock a selection of sunglasses, including sport, fashion and prescription sunglasses. We only stock high quality sunglasses with full UV protection to help protect the eyes from harmful UV light. Wearing the right tinted lenses for eye protection purposes not only makes sense but also is more comfortable and enhances vision on brighter sunny days. UV protection is important as UV can damage the eyes. It has been implicated in the early onset of presbyopia, cataract, age-related macular degeneration and the ageing of the skin around the eye.
