The business was started by Umesh Solanki and his wife in August 2000, they live locally and now have 3 children. The business started small and then grew through customer recommendations. In February 2006 we expanded and took over Church & Compton Opticians in Huntingdon. The building required a significant restoration and we are proud to have saved this 1750 listed building for future generations of Huntingdon. The St Ives practice relocated to its current premises on Bridge Street in October 2007.
We believe in providing the highest levels of professional expertise and a personal and efficient service for our customers. Two things set us apart:-
1 Quality of products.
Unlike large high street chains we are not tied to particular brands or products. Our service is genuinely impartial and we are able to offer the very fullest range of frames and lenses.
2 Professional friendly staff.
We have worked hard to build a team of experienced and highly qualified eye care professionals. Many larger opticians employ a range of assistants to deal with non-diagnostic aspects of the service. We feel that each customer deserves advice from qualified dispensing opticians to ensure that the frames and lenses chosen suit not just your face but also your prescription and lifestyle.
We care about our customers experience with us, we aim to make you feel welcome and we want to get to know you and you us. Our service is thorough, unhurried and personal.
Finally, we also support and invest back into local towns and businesses where we can. We use a St Ives glazing house (they cut and shape lenses) where appropriate and we have invested a lot of time and money into the restoration of the listed building in Huntingdon, hoping to restore this precious resource for the town.
