From Our Website
Since 1920 we have dedicated ourselves to delivering professional and friendly care and service for every patient. It must be working, as our patients do seem to stay with us, often from childhood into old age! Our goal is to provide you with the very best in eye care. We continue to invest and move forward with new technological changes and services, to ensure we look after the sight of all our patients young and old.
At Praills Opticians you will always receive professional advice on your vision and on choosing the best products for your needs, appearance and lifestyle. You will always be examined by a qualified optical practitioner, while your spectacles or contact lenses will be provided by fully trained dispensing staff. We spend time with our patients to suit their needs and not to suit an allocated time slot. Our eye tests are tailored to your individual situation and are based on our professional qualified optometrist's evaluation of your visual requirements.
From time to time, we may send you promotional information and offers. Your information will not be shared with any third parties and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time by contacting us. If you do not want to receive these communications, make sure that this box is not ticked.
Our practice offers NHS and private eye examinations; providing you with choice and the necessary support. Many people are now entitled to free sight tests under the NHS and they may also qualify for help with the cost of their glasses. To understand if you are entitled under the NHS, please see notes below or contact us. We will be pleased to discuss things through with you. If you're named on an NHS certificate for partial help with health costs (HC3), you may get some help towards the cost of your sight test.
1 in 6 people in the UK miss out on the little things in life, because of their hearing. Whether it's struggling to hear the TV, or having difficulty hearing in conversations, many people don't realise these are common signs of hearing loss. Which is why, on average, it takes 7 years to make the first step. At Amplifon, we've been championing hearing health for over 65 years. With more than 200 hearing centres in the UK, our expert Audiologists are always on hand to offer you professional advice, care and peace of mind.
We are in a parade of shops diagonally opposite Aldi supermarket, about 500 meters from the station roundabout. Parking: There is convenient free parking in the area and a paid car park behind Holy Trinity Church and another one in Trinity Street. Buses: There are frequent buses into Fareham, from the various surrounding areas, such as Portchester, Gosport, Stubbington, Wickham, Titchfield and Locks Heath.
As independent opticians, we are free to choose the best frames and lenses available in the market. Take a look at some of the exciting brands we have selected for you. With its Austrian-made eyewear, Silhouette has been setting benchmarks for style, comfort and material since 1964. The design is limitless and constantly surprising, whilst simultaneously being distinctive and unique. Consistent clarity and weightlessness - a timeless statement. Authentic eyewear for authentic people. The Cocoa Mint brand, by British eyewear designers Eye Space, manage to cleverly close the gap between the eyewear expectations of today's younger ‘on trend' generation and the demands of the more sophisticated wearer.
We often feel we look sophisticated in sunglasses and we might find they also help us enjoy bright sunshine, but quality eyewear of all types can actually help maintain healthy eyesight. Light contains ultraviolet (UV) rays and while it's invisible, its effects certainly aren't. Apart from putting our skin at risk, it has the same effect on our eyes, particularly the crystalline lens within. UV can cause cataract, for which the only solution is to surgically remove the lens. UV is most intense in bright sunny weather, especially at the beach or in the mountains, but up to 80% of solar UV radiation can penetrate light cloud cover, so its effects are still damaging.
