From Our Website

Our 2 practices are long established in serving the communities of Wisbech and Long Sutton where we have built a strong reputation for the quality of our professional expertise and service, looking after the eyecare of over 20,000 people a year. Our aim is to be the preferred choice for eye care in each of our locations. We recognise the importance our patients place on the individual, quality eyecare they expect to receive. Levels of service are built around these expectations and we achieve this by attracting and retaining top quality clinical and administrative personnel.

Did you know that we can take in contact lenses and blister packs for recycling? If you wear daily contact lenses every day for a year, that adds up to 730 lenses and blister packs ending up in landfill. Acuvue contact lenses have created a recycling programme in partnership with TerraCycle to recycle this waste for all soft contact lenses foils/blister packs/soft lenses from any supplier. These are recycled to make products like garden furniture and speed bumps! Plus each parcel we send off creates ‘TerraCycle points', which in turn raises money for schools and charities.

It was so lovely to walk in and be greeted with a welcoming smile and professionalism. The staff were all very friendly and the test was extremely efficient and informative. Everything was explained in detail and I felt that each member of staff was very knowledgeable. Excellent customer service, Susan from Long Sutton branch was so helpful and informative when I was choosing my glasses and ordering numerous types of contact lenses in. My eye test was again very thorough and an excellent optician.

Our qualified Optometrists carry out thorough eye examinations to work out the correct lens strength for your glasses, and check the overall health of your eyes. We utilise our skills and expertise to offer expert advice and professionally answer any questions you may have. State-of-the-art equipment may be used to test the pressure inside your eyes and your field of vision, and you will be offered a 3D Health Scan. Our new 3D OCT scanner uses light to take images of the different layers of your eye which allows us to check for potentially serious conditions such as glaucoma, diabetes, age-related macular degeneration and other conditions.

Our Loyalty Plan offers you access to a fully, comprehensive examination that involves the latest state-of-the-art equipment to detect eye conditions early, with the added benefit of discounts on all our products. Routine examinations are performed as often as necessary, and you can be seen with any emergency or concerns without extra charges, often on the same day, ensuring our patients get the very highest standard of eyecare. This all brings you reassurance and peace of mind, ensuring that your eyes are in the very best of health.

At Coakleys you will find your perfect pair of glasses and sunglasses with our experienced Lens experts/Frame Stylists. They are able to advise you on shapes and colours to suit your face shape and skin shade. You will have over 1000 styles to choose from, and be spoilt for choice, from traditional and bespoke, rimless and vintage to quirky. There is something for everyone. Safer lenses: All SEIKO lenses are made out of materials that are broadly referred to as 'plastic'. In comparison to glass lenses, plastic lenses are lighter and more impact resistant.

Most infants and pre-school children have regular vision screening as part of their routine developmental checks. These early checks are invaluable, but aren't as thorough as a full eye test by a qualified optician. We advise that children should have their first eye examination at around the age of 3-4; it is important to remember that children don't need to be able to read to have their first eye examination. Your child should then have a check-up once a year as eye problems can occur at any age.

We partner with the UK's leading independent opticians to bring you a market-leading audiology service from the comfort of your local expert optical practice. Together, we can look after your hearing and your sight, for life. We all know that our senses are key to how we enjoy the world around us. But did you know they're also key to the health of our brain? That's because hearing and vision help us to maintain strong social bonds with the people around us. This prevents loneliness and isolation.
